Why do you need a crime that applies to a spcific segment of society?
Because it is announcing to all haters that a gay person lives there, the same way that Nazi's did the same to Jews??
Can't you see that?
There are a lot of ignorant violent people out there. What right does anyone have to deface a person's property BECAUSE OF their personal sexual orientation or religion, or color?
We are obligated to protect ANYONE who is threatened for hateful reasons, especially when it encourages more hate.
Can't you understand that?
How would you like it if PETA wrote graffiti all over your door calling you a fur wearer and animal eater, or a dog killer (even if you had to put it to sleep due to age?)
(and THAT wouldn't even be announcing/outing you as a minority).
Or is is just a juvenile prank to you? Think of the victim,
will ya??

It seems as if the community is now watching for these hate vandals and hopefully they'll be apprehended before they hurt someone or get hurt themselves. And it's a crime being forced out of his home for his sexual preference.

How horrible. I can't believe that in this day and age, people are still teaching their children to hate. The parents of the kids who did this should be charged with child abuse. Just like anyone involved with the AFA.
