After pressure from the American Civil Liberties Union, Georgia's Commissioner of Insurance has agreed to allow Jon Lawson, a gay man, to purchase health insurance through a state plan designed to help people who are uninsured.

    Now, imagine if this man were Jewish. Or Black. And was denied insurance based on that criteria. WOW!!!

      If this man were black, Jewish, and gay, he would be the poster child of discrimination. Make him a woman, and you have pretty much covered all bases.

      Why should an insurance company or plan in any state be allowed to discriminate based on sexual identity?

        On what basis were they denying him insurance in the first place. Surely not because he was gay????

          Well, that's not why they say they denied him insurance, but that's why they're doing it.

          And yes, the USA CAN be that backward.
