Toward the end of dinner, one of my companions insisted that the painfully thin, emotive, long blond haired thing in a small black dress with nearly exposed bosoms was none other than Ann Coulter. I did not believe him. Why would Ann Coulter, who hates homosexuals, go to dinner at gay ground zero?

Anyone who honestly believes that Ann hates gays should read her new book "If Democrats had any brains they would be Republicans".
Although reading her words before deciding to hate her would require brains and well, that would mean you are already smart enough not to hate her.

That sounds like the same excuse made by blacks who use the N word.
And no, she is not trying to give the word power. She used it to make a joke about John edwards saying that he was a sissy who spends more on his hair than John Kerry or any other woman does. She was also making light of the fact that Isiah Washington went into rehab for using the word. (Which we all can admit is freaking hilarious)
I have a gay family member who thought her joke was funny as hell and in no way offensive to gays. The offensive thing was that Isiah said it in the first place. Right? I mean seriously, when mel gibson went on ihs anti-jewish tirade, what was more offensive, his words or the jokes Jay Leno made about them? His words obviously. It seems that just because she is conservative people on the left will hate her and create controversies to make her look bad, huffington included.

I agree and disagree. Yes, she does use those terms for shock value, but her contempt for gays and lesbians goes far beyond using some inappropriate language. She is rude and demeaning towards gays and would if she could set back human rights further in one swoop than most right wing ministers.
Howard Stern uses words for shock value, but not as frequently to degrade or debase another human.

david, it seems ann is gay. and, if she is not gay, she is trans-gendered. and, when the truth finally comes out, it could be hurtful to the innocent groups she claims to abhor.
she doesn't bother me in the least. and, I will go on to say that she is successful as a writer and speaker...she causes reaction!

the reason her adams appple sticks out is because she is so very thin.

As I have said before, the buffoons that buy her books are supporting her lavish and decadent lifestyle that she enjoys. All the while condemning those same people she associates with.
