This is an amazing advance for all LGBT people in the US. For some reason I am not surprised that of the companies that do not provide nondiscrimination policies, 14 are headquartered in Texas. The two surveys cited in this article are further evidence of positively changing attitudes towards equality in the work place.

Well maybe the Dems are ahead of the curve on this one. After all they went to the debate recently while you know who avoided it.

What foolish people to discriminate on issues that have absolutely nothing to do with the work environment. It's like the military ending up with no linguists in Iraq, because their linguists were disproportionately 'gay'. I remember when Bill Gates took a stand against some 'gay' rights, & his gay employees were furious! He backed down, because he knew he needed their skills. It would be different if being gay harmed society overall. But being gay harms no one, and there is no excuse for discrimination based on immature prejudices.
I wish they had shown in the article the companies who do discriminate. I sure don't want to do business with them.

in other words..the EVIL corporations are..like the military did..in the forefront of a widespread effort towards equal rights--no EVIL corporations..no massive company policies for this sort of social advance

'Fortune 500 companies: 92% provide gay nondiscriminationâ;¦'
Excellent Findings, these are the Major Companies that set the Pace, the others will Follow....
I would not get to Happy with the Democrats, they did very poorly in the last several Presidential Debates Regarding HoMosexually....
Learn to Understand the Issues before Jumping to
Conclusions?
In Politics, they rely on Decption and Perception, basically conceling how they really feel on a given Issue..
These are the individuales to Vote Out...
Governor Richardson, What a Disgrace!!!!

I believe when either Apple or Hewlett Packard wanted to locate an assembly plant in a Texas town, the city fathers voted to decline rezoning to bring the plant in because the company refuses to discriminate based on sexual orientation.
As typical the fundie hatemongers (aka ministers) were behind the move, but when the people heard the jobs paid well, they pressured the town leaders to invite the company back.

Gay or not, they will still replace the 40 & 50 somethings with kids right out of school and not think twice about it. All this proves is now the homosexual community can play the "gay discrimination card" and keep to their job. What's next?

Ah, I see you still think that being gay is just about what takes place in the bedroom. Do straight people live their lives secluded in their bedrooms? Neither do gay people. See, gays and lesbians date other people. They go to movies, eat dinner together, go dancing, visit art museums, go bowling; simply put, they do everything straight couples do, only with people of the same gender. When we fall in love, it does not mean we fall between the covers and have sex. Not all gays, like all straights are about sexual activity.
I realize that is a shock to some people, but being gay is not as simplistic as some straight people think it is.
Your post could read another way. Do you know what gay people do in their bedrooms? Do we tell you all the intimate details, or do you presume what transpires? We admit to being gay, you infer what takes place in the bedroom is of grand importance to us. It is only a small part of our lives.
